Comforting and filling, since 2020

The Octa is a neighbourhood restaurant and takeaway at 08 Pietersz Pl, Nugegoda. Since we opened in 2020 our promise has stayed the same: food that is comforting and filling.

The name

Why “The Octa”?

Look closely at our logo and you will find the figure 8 above the name. Our menu is organised in corners too: kottu, rice and Mongolian, noodles and ramen, grills and devilled dishes, Italian, burgers and subs, desserts, and shakes and mocktails.

It means a family can sit around one table and order a chicken kottu, a bowl of Buldak ramen, a creamy cajun penne and a Nutella crepe, and everyone goes home happy.

Since opening we have refreshed our dining room and our menu, and guests on Google tell us they love the warm, cosy new look and the calm, relaxed atmosphere.

Fresh, every plate
Our set menus and budget rice are made with fresh ingredients, cooked to order in our own kitchen.

Every omelette is made with three organic eggs, and so are our chicken and mixed Kottu Sawans.

Homemade chilli paste and chilli gravy, home-made Sri Lankan curries and roast paan baked in-house for our pocket sandwich.

A menu with budget plates and big sharing platters, mild dishes and fiery ones, so every guest finds something.
